MANHATTAN, KAN. – The Riley County Police Department is requesting bids for veterinarian services to provide professional care and treatment for the department’s police K-9 program for the 2026 budget year.
The requested services include, annual wellness exam and vaccinations, annual preventatives (flea/tick, heartworm, etc.), dental care, emergency and surgical services, specialized care, intestinal blockage treatment, ACL tear treatment, minor cuts and abrasions and impalement or puncture injuries.
The deadline to submit a veterinarian services bid is Dec. 1, with bid opening beginning the following day, Dec. 2. The anticipated section date is Dec. 15, and the selected provider will be notified by Dec. 19. RCPD reserves the right to reject any or all bids based on cost, qualifications, or other reasonable basis.
RCPD is a consolidated law enforcement agency located in Manhattan, Kan., and is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). RCPD serves approximately 72,000 residents in Riley County and is authorized 113 police officers, 47 correction officers, 24 dispatchers and 40 professional staff.
