An Ogden woman was arrested on over 38 crimes after a search warrant was carried out by Riley County Police Department Detectives on Friday.
Candace Huffman, 36, was arrested while in the 200 block of North Walnut Street in Ogden on January 5, 2024 around 4:22 PM. Huffman was arrested on probable cause offenses for 38 counts that include, but are not limited to, fraud, identity theft, and forgery.
On December 6, 2023, officers filed a report for fraud when it was reported a fraudulent check was used online to purchase a vehicle in Oklahoma and have it delivered to Ogden. On December 20, 2023, officers filed a report for fraud/worthless check and theft in the 700 block of Pecan Circle in Manhattan when it was reported a fraudulent cashier's check was used to pay a business for services estimated to cost $13,540.
Huffman was arrested in connection to both cases in addition to multiple counts of violating the Kansas Offender Registration Act. She was issued a total bond of $100,000 and was confined at the time of this report.
