RCPD Executes Search Warrant at Smoke Shop, Arrest Made

MANHATTAN, KAN. – The Riley County Police Department executed a search warrant at Chill Vibez Smoke and Vape and made an arrest during its investigation on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, in the 100 block of Sarber Lane in Manhattan, Pottawatomie County.

The warrant was issued as part of a larger overall investigation that began earlier this year into the distribution of illegal marijuana and THC products in Manhattan. This was an independent investigation by the RCPD and not currently linked to recent enforcement by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI).

Al-Shawhati Rayd Mohomed-Hezam, 40, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. in connection with the investigation. Mohomed-Hezam was charged with one count of distribution of marijuana greater than 450 grams, but less than 30 kilograms; one count of distribution of THC products greater than 100 doses, but less than 1,000 doses; and one count of distribution of THC products greater than 100 grams, but less than 1 kilogram. Upon arrest, Mohomed-Hezam was processed into the Pottawatomie County Jail. He was issued a total bond of $50,000 and remains confined at the time of this release. 

RCPD would like to thank the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in the execution of the search warrant. This investigation remains open and ongoing.
