Jones was charged with distribution of a controlled substance resulting in fatality, distribution of opiate/opium/ narcotic/stimulant/heroin dosage <10 units, and the utilization of a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation. Total bond in this matter was set at $500,000. Jones was confined at the time of this report.
The apprehension stems from an incident that occurred in June of 2023 wherein law enforcement officers investigated the overdose death of a 25-year-old individual in Manhattan, Kansas.
The investigation is ongoing. Investigations into all other Fentanyl-related overdoses in our community remain active and ongoing as well. Any individuals possessing pertinent information are urged to come forward and assist law enforcement authorities.
