Manhattan, Kan. -

Officers filed a report of an injury accident at the corner of Southwind Road and S. Seth Child Road on February 11, 2025, at approximately 12:01 PM.  Officers report Courtney Downs, of Manhattan, failed to yield the right of way at the traffic light causing her to strike the vehicle driven by Dauane Briggs, of Salina. Downs and a passenger from Dauane Briggs' vehicle were transported to Via Christi by EMS for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. 

Jarod Petty, 19, of Manhattan, was arrested on February 11, 2025 at approximately 4:22 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Petty was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for perjury. Total bond was set at $5,000. Petty was confined at the time of this report.

Joseph Bauer, Jr., 20, of Manhattan, was arrested on February 11, 2025 at approximately 4:22 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Petty was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for perjury. Total bond was set at $5,000. Bauer was confined at the time of this report.
