Manhattan, Kan. -
John Martin, 43, of Manhattan was arrested on August 23, 2023, at approximately 9:45 a.m. on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. He was also arrested for stalking and two counts of violation of a protection order. Martin was issued a total bond of $10,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on August 23, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m. Walmart was listed as the victim when it was reported four unknown suspects fraudulently purchased approximately $2,000 worth of goods using a cash card scheme. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Officers filed a report for theft in the 1500 block of Yuma St. in Manhattan on August 23, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m. A 48-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported the catalytic converters from two of his vans were cut off and stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,400. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Steven Mitchell, 38, of Ogden was arrested on August 23, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m. for aggravated violation of the Offender Registration Act and two counts of violation of the Offender Registration Act. Mitchel remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $75,000.
Chrystal Theis, 44, of Manhattan was arrested on August 23, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on a Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear. This warrant stems from original charges of driving while suspended and no proof of insurance. Theis remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $6,000.
Liberto Rodriguez Jr., 44, of Kansas City, Kan. was arrested on August 23, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated failure to appear. This warrant stems from an original charge of criminal threat. He was also arrested for criminal damage to property in connection to a January 18, 2023, incident where it was reported Rodriquez attempted to kick in a 19-year-old woman's door causing approximately $200 worth of damage. Rodriguez remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $10,750.
