Manhattan, Kan. -

Officers filed a report of giving a worthless check and computer crimes on November 12, 2024, at approximately 6:54 AM in the 12000 block of Madison Road in Riley. Officers listed Kansas State Bank as the victim when a known subject passed fraudulent checks on three separate occasions. Total loss associated with this report is $3,037.

Officers filed a report of theft and criminal use of a financial card on November 12, 2024, at approximately 9:42 AM in the 300 block of N. Seth Child Road.  Officers listed Waters True Value as the victim when it was reported a known suspect purchased $1,004 worth of goods with a card that did not belong to him.

Michael Steere, 28, of Manhattan, was arrested on November 12, 2024, at approximately 12:10 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road.  Steere was arrested on the probable cause offenses of identity theft and computer unlawful acts. Total bond was set at $6,000. Steere was confined at the time of this report.

Sarah Sessin, 37, of Manhattan, was arrested on November 13, 2024, at approximately 1:01 AM at the corner of 10th Street and Riley Lane. Sessin was arrested on probable cause offenses of forgery, making false information, interference with an LEO, and identity theft. Total bond was set at $15,000. Sessin was confined at the time of this report.
