Manhattan, Kan. -

Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Gary Avenue and North Seth Child Road in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 9:38 AM. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 2019 Gray Honda Odyssey driven by Paola Ames, 36, had crashed with a 2010 Maroon Honda Pilot driven by Michael Beebe, 61. Ames was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Beebe was issued a citation for no driver’s license. Ames was transported to Via Christi for treatment of her injuries. 

Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Marlatt Avenue in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 7:44 PM. When officers arrived on scene they found a passenger, Mary Ellis, 50, of Manhattan, had fallen off a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jamie Smith, 43, of Manhattan, while taking a turn. Ellis was transported to Via Christi for treatment of her injuries. 

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1200 block of Vattier Street in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 11:59 PM. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when he reported two unknown suspects broke the glass window on his residence. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Sarah Way, 35, of Missouri, was arrested after being extradited to the Riley County Police Department on October 4, 2023, around 4:50 PM. Way was arrested on a Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear x4, probation violation, and theft of property or services. The original charges were for theft, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Way was issued a total bond of $7,750 and was confined at the time of this report. 

Marcus Grant, 40, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 100 block of North 4th Street in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 4:43 PM. Grant was arrested on an offense of violating the Offender Registration Act. Grant was issued a total bond of $5,000 and was confined at the time of this report. 

Phillip Ikya, 19, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 1300 block of Claflin Road in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 4:08 PM. Ikya was arrested on a Pottawatomie County District Court warrant for lewd and lascivious x 2. Ikya was issued a total bond of $10,000 and was not confined at the time of this report. 

Molly Meeks, 34, of St. George, was arrested while in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza in Manhattan on October 4, 2023, around 2:30 PM. Meeks was arrested on a Dickinson County District Court warrant for probation violation. Meeks was issued a total bond of $50,000 and was confined at the time of this report.
