Manhattan, Kan. -
Brycen Tyler, 16, of Manhattan was arrested on August 29, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m. at Manhattan High School (MHS) after it was reported he made threats of violence and indications he may possess a weapon. A School Resource Officer made contact with Tyler after receiving reports of these comments and found that he was not in possession of a weapon. Ultimately, Tyler was arrested for aggravated criminal threat and transported to the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility in Junction City.
Officers filed a report for burglary in the 600 block of S. Delaware Ave. in Manhattan on August 29, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m. A 34-year-old male was listed as the victim when he reported his storage unit was broken into and a Dell laptop computer, Craftsman toolbox, and two Makita drills were stolen from inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $800. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Manhattan Town Center on August 29, 2023, at approximately 7:15 p.m. Kay Jewelry was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect stole a 10k yellow gold diamond ring and an Italian 24" 10k yellow gold necklace. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $10,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.
