Manhattan, Kan. -

Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan on August 21, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m. Carpet One was listed as the victim when it was reported their van's catalytic converter was cut off and stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,500. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Northfield Rd. in Manhattan on August 21, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m. A 50-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported his black and blue 2015 Giant AnyRoad 2 bicycle was stolen from his porch. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,400. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 100 block of E. Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on August 21, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 2004 Ford EC3 driven by Rodney Welfringer, 55, of Manhattan had been traveling westbound on Highway 24 and took the right turn lane to merge onto northbound Tuttle Creek Blvd. when he rear-ended a 2016 Honda Fit driven by Yolanda Broyles-Gonzalez, 74, also of Manhattan who was in the turn lane in front of him. Broyles-Gonzalez and a passenger in her car were both transported to Via Christi for treatment of back pain. Welfringer was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 300 block of S. 3rd St. in Manhattan on August 21, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m. The Flint Hills Discovery Center was listed as the victim when it was reported unknown juveniles damaged chairs and concrete tiles on their back terrace balcony. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $800. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 400 block of Clydesdale Dr. in Ogden on August 21, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Opportunities Unlimited was listed as the victim when it was reported a known juvenile kicked a hole in a door, damaged three walls and a thermostat. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 900 block of N. Manhattan Ave. in Manhattan on August 21, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m. A 23-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported his motorcycle was pushed over while parked in an apartment parking lot. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.
