We’ve updated our website to enhance the accurate flow of timely information to the public and add several benefits to the citizens of Riley County.
The new website holding the same URL, RileyCountyPolice.org, was created by CivicPlus, a local web development company located in Manhattan.
“As a public service agency, our main goal when redesigning our website was to educate, inform and empower the public with information about our agency, local crimes, and how to solve community harms through collaboration,” Public Information Officer Aaron Wintermote said.
Several exciting updates that will help us to better serve you online include:
- Mobile-friendly design allows easy navigation from your phone, tablet, or desktop
- The Alert Center boldly shows time-sensitive information like road closures
- Subscription service sends text or email alerts straight to you
- Calendar shows community events and other opportunities to meet RCPD officers
Personalized logins allow citizens to create an account on the website to sign up for notifications and further engage in public dialog. Intuitive search bars and navigation menus make it easy to locate information.
“We hope this update helps provide people with easy-to-find information,” Wintermote said. “Especially for victims of crime to potentially lessen the traumatic impact of victimization through appropriate resources.”
We will also transition from live-streaming Law Board meetings on our Facebook page to directly on the website.
Daily News will replace the old “Police Activity Report” for our daily crime briefings.
