The Repeat Offender Program (ROP) began in January 2010 with the goal of identifying high-rate offenders who frequently and negatively impact our community. The Special Investigative Unit (SIU) is responsible for pro-active investigations, to include narcotics and dangerous drugs, vice, organized crime, and other crimes as necessary. Staffed with one Sergeant and two officers this unit is equipped with specialized equipment and training. The Special Investigation Unit is an enforcement unit within the Riley County Police Department with a schedule that adjusts to the needs of the Department.
In March 2017, the Riley County Police Department in conjunction with Pawnee Mental Health Services created two mental health co-responder positions to provide officers assistance serving citizens in crises situations.
We all want safer roadways. Safer roadways mean fewer accidents, better traffic flow and you arrive at your destination on time. In an effort to reduce accidents, the Riley County Police Department is launching "ARC 2.0" or "Accident Reduction Citations 2.0."
