On Friday August 22, 2014, the Riley County Police Department conducted a MIP/MIC Saturation Patrol.  Officers involved in the Saturation Patrol were enforcing alcohol laws related to underage drinking and taking the appropriate enforcement action.

On Friday August 29 and Saturday August 30, 2014, the Riley County Police Department will conduct a DUI Saturation Patrol.  Officers involved in the Saturation Patrol will be looking for signs of impaired driving and other traffic violations.  Motorists who show signs of alcohol and/or drug consumption will be evaluated and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.

The purpose of this program is to place additional officers in and around the Manhattan area with the goal of detecting and deterring impaired driving.

The Riley County Police Department along with the Kansas Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the early morning hours of August 24, 2014 in the 1500 block of Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan KS.  The checkpoint was designed to identify impaired drivers and remove them from the roadway.
