A Manhattan man has been arrested by the Topeka Police Department in connection to the murder of a 27-year-old female in Manhattan early this morning.
On Saturday, September 25, 2021, shortly before 6:00 a.m., officers responded to report of a man who had possibly murdered a female family member in the 400 block of S. 12th St. and left the scene. Shanell Bobian, 27, of Manhattan was later found deceased by officers at another location. Due to the ongoing investigation, the location will be released at this time.
Kamahl Bobian, 27, of Manhattan was identified as the suspect and an attempt to locate was sent to neighboring agencies. Bobian was apprehended by the Topeka Police Department shortly before 7:30 a.m. after crashing his vehicle near the intersection of I-70 and W. 1st Ave. in Topeka.
Bobian is currently being held by the Topeka Police Department and will be extradited to the Riley County Jail.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, there is no additional information at this time.
