The Riley County Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, September 6th into Saturday, September 7th in Manhattan. The checkpoint was designed to identify impaired drivers and remove them from the roadway.
Three hundred and thirty three vehicles were stopped in the checkpoint. Twenty-one people were evaluated for DUI, resulting in five arrests.
Funding for the DUI checkpoint is being provided by the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Project
