◊ Arrest made after assault, crash ◊
MANHATTAN, KAN. – On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Riley County Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call of an in-progress assault in Manhattan.
When officers arrived on scene, the female victim reported an unknown male suspect had left the area. A few minutes later at 10:08 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist near the intersection of Heritage Court and Wreath Avenue in Manhattan.
The suspect and vehicle were located in the 1700 block of Wreath Avenue. Jordan Hildreth, 24, of Manhattan was taken into custody at approximately 10:15 p.m., while in the 1700 block of Wreath Avenue. Hildreth was transported to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries.
Hildreth was released from the hospital and is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on offenses of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery (x2), driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, driving while suspended, failure to stop at an accident, duty of driver to provide information, battery on LEO, interference with LEO and criminal damage to property.
Hildreth was issued a total bond of $140,000.00.
