The Riley County Jail is using new technology to help inmates receive funds from friends and family during their incarceration. A new kiosk located in the lobby of the Riley County Police Department is now being used to make these money transfers more efficient. Beginning in April 2014 corrections officers began using this kiosk and have since stopped accepting money orders for inmates.

“It’s really a great addition to the jail. First and foremost, it makes it easier for friends and family to add money to an inmate account. It also basically eliminates the need for corrections officers to handle money. This will help to protect them from any misunderstanding.” – Captain Hank Nelson, Commander of the Riley County Jail.

Money can be added through the kiosk or by visiting GovPayNow.com (or by dialing 1-888-277-2535). MoneyGram deposits are also accepted and can be done online or at a MoneyGram location (like Wal-Mart). More information can be found at MoneyGram.com. Funds can also be transferred to an inmate account by visiting CourtMoney.com (or dialing 1-800-352-9870).

When adding money to an inmate account the following information may be required.
