On February 5, 2014 at approximately 9:05 PM, the Riley County Police Department was contacted regarding an armed robbery and aggravated assault that had just occurred at 222 N. 6th Street in Manhattan (the Ray’s Apple Market East location). Upon police arrival it was made known that two subjects, one brandishing a handgun, had entered the grocery store and then a short time later were able to flee the area with an unreleased amount of US currency. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Police officers and detectives with the Riley County Police Department have begun a thorough investigation into the matter. As the status of this investigation is ongoing there is no further information to be released at this time.
