The only items allowed at the Riley County Jail are soft bound books sent into the jail from the mail system from a actual book store (for example or Barnes and Noble). Legal documents can also be brought in, but only if they pertain to the case that the inmate is currently confined under.  Pictures may be sent to the inmate but must be appropriate. Pictures with violence, gang related or sexual imagery will not be allowed. Magazines and newspapers are also not allowed in the Riley County Jail.

Inmates coming into a KDOC facility are allowed to bring a Bible, cheap watch (no metal), plain wedding bands, 10 letters, legal mail, and up to 50 personal photographs.
