Riley County Police Department Captain Josh Kyle has functioned as a sworn officer for the community of Riley County and Manhattan since August 1991 and has served as Captain since July 2014. Throughout Josh’s service at RCPD he has been assigned to a number of functions to include 15 years in uniform patrol.  While employed by RCPD he has been heavily involved in police training which culminated in receiving Level IV Facilitator status through the Police Society for Problem-Based Learning.  Josh has been also been involved in operalizing several new policing initiatives.  Josh is a graduate of Manhattan High School and Kansas State University.  He completed the 130th Administrative Officer’s Course at the Southern Police Institute which is located within the University of Louisville (KY) and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Justice Administration.  He is married with two children and has lived in Manhattan/Riley County throughout his life.  Josh is the son of retired Captain Dana Kyle (RCPD) and the grandson of deceased Captain Byron “Bud” Kyle of the Kansas Highway Patrol.
